AnimalSave
News, Needs & Upcoming Events

We send you July greetings through the smoke and heat. All of us here at AnimalSave hope that you and your animal companions are faring well during this challenging time. Please remember to keep your four-legged family members inside out of the heat and smoke, if at all possible.

Be a Good Animal Samaritan and keep a watchful eye for dogs trapped in hot cars and animals left out doors in the sun with little or no water.
We are attaching a flyer (click here) about the dangers of "Dogs in Hot Cars" which you may print out and use. We also have them available here in the AnimalSave Thrift & Treasures Store.
Remember it is against the law to leave a dog in a hot car. You may call the Nevada County Animal Control at 273-2179 or Grass Valley Animal Control at 477-4630 to report any violation and possibly save a dog's life.

We received this email request from John Maretti regarding the dire need for assistance for animals in Butte County. If you or anyone you know might be able to help, please give John a call.

"I am the Animal Group Supervisor for the Fires in Northern California.  We currently have 3 shelters set up.  The lightning fires have kept us busy since June 10th and we are running out of volunteers.  Do you have any volunteers that are close to Butte County, California?  We anticipate having the shelters open for another week and require about 6-10 more individuals who can help exercise cats, dogs and large animals. Any help or referrals would be appreciated! John Maretti North Valley Animal Disaster Group (530) 895-0000."
