Jim Gettle, an avid classic car collector and enthusiast (and generous supporter of AnimalSave) left this beautiful
1937 Pontiac Cabriolet to us in his estate plan . . . and we're selling it!
Proceeds from the sale will help fund AnimalSave’s critical animal welfare programs, including the low-cost spay/neuter clinic and our cat rescue and adoption programs.
The car will be at the Roamin Angels’ 24th Annual 2025 Cruisin' the Pines car show on Saturday, September 6, from 9-4 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. We’ll also have AnimalSave’s mobile spay/neuter clinic on display and open for tours...plus, you'll be able to meet some of our adorable cats and kittens that are waiting for their forever homes.
You can also see this vintage car at Gold Country Classic Cars at 422 Henderson Street in Grass Valley.

AnimalSave is located on the Main Street property that back in the day, was the Hockett Auto Dealership. The showrooms were in what is now the Thrift and Treasures benefit store and cat adoption facility, and the repair shop was located where our administrative offices are now.
We're thrilled to be back in the "car business"...and even more thrilled that it will help feed the cats!

Rare, Out-of-Print, and Vintage Book Sale
If you're a book lover interested in rare, out of print and vintage books to add to your collection, mark your calendar and stop by the Book Nook at the AnimalSave Center on June 6 and 7 from 11-3:00.
AnimalSave’s Book Nook will be holding one of its special book sales on June 6 and 7 . . . and this one is REALLY special! We regularly receive generous donations of rare and exceptional books, gems that we sometimes offer during a special sale, open to the public, for a limited time. We price these books by finding the lowest price of a comparable book on the website Biblio, and cutting that amount at least in half! Every single book will be a bargain! You'll find some true treasures here, including signed books, first editions, beautifully illustrated books, and books with other special characteristics.
Proceeds will help AnimalSave continue its good work rescuing and finding homes for cats in our community and providing low-cost spay and neuter services to our area's cats and dogs.

Join us at AnimalSave’s Book Nook on February 15 to meet this remarkable young author and get a signed copy of her new book, The Guardians.
She’s just in the 10th grade . . . and yet she’s written and published her first book, one that earned her top honors in the prestigious Scholastic Arts and Writing competition, along with a four-star review from Literary Titan!
Along with her studies, Elora is also an Apprentice story weaver for the Grass Valley Live Action Role Play group, where players take on a role and act out their characters. To create this exciting and unforgettable book, she worked with a professional editor, storyboard artist, and graphic designer . . . and at just 14 years old is already accepting commissions for illustrations, comic books, and children’s books.
The Guardians revolves around a fantasy world of cat-like beings, and takes readers on a tour of magical forests and mystical underwater realms as the characters battle to defeat the vicious threat of The Phantom.
