Spay & Neuter Policies
Puppies and kittens are altered at eight weeks of age and at two pounds, with priority given to younger animals.
We spay pregnant animals that have not been purposefully allowed to breed. If you have allowed a dog or cat to reproduce, we are unable to spay or neuter either the mother or offspring, as it would be inconsistent with our mission and purpose.
Services are restricted to no more than two animals, and to Nevada County residents.
Since our resources are limited, you need to contact your regular veterinarian if your household has previously used our services.
If you obtained an unaltered animal from a rescue organization outside of Nevada County, please contact that rescue for help getting your pet altered.
If you purchased an unaltered animal, please contact your regular veterinarian.
If you already have an appointment, please download a copy of our
pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
